That Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is a volunteer board consisting of seven members. All seven members reside in the Town of Harrisburg. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recommends policies, projects and possible funding opportunities to the Town Council, as well as acting as a liaison to the community, soliciting volunteers and making recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Department on opportunities to improve the quality of life for Harrisburg residents through affordable, family oriented programming, parks and special events.

The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meets on the fourth Monday of every month, unless otherwise noted, at 6 p.m. in the Harrisburg Town Hall Council Chambers.
Meeting agendas are posted three to five days prior to the scheduled meeting date. Minutes are posted after the meeting has been held and minutes have been approved, usually following the next regularly scheduled meeting.

Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee:
The Town of Harrisburg Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee, a sub-committee of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, provides a voice, specific for the Arts, Culture and Heritage of the Harrisburg community. The Committee consists of individuals who live in the local region and community and have interest in supporting and preserving programs, events, history & heritage, culture and the arts of Harrisburg. Through monthly meetings, information obtained from the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee is provided to Harrisburg Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and Town Council to help make informed decisions that support the arts, culture and heritage of the community.
The Committee typically meets the 1st Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Harrisburg Town Hall in the Municipal Complex.
