Potential Quorum Notice - 8/21/18

Members of the Harrisburg Town Council may be attending the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Advisory Board Meeting to be held on August 21st, 2018 in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 6:00 pm.

The public is hereby notified that although this is not a meeting of the Town Council, there is the potential for a quorum of Harrisburg Town Council members to be in attendance at this meeting.


Fall 2018 Citizens Academy

The Town will offer its second Citizens Academy beginning in September 2018. The free course will be held on Tuesday evenings in September and October for seven weeks and will conclude with a graduation recognition at the November 12 T

Council members Selberg and Russo win 2018 Mayor's Invitational Cornhole Tournament

Council members Troy Selberg and Rick Russo won the 2018 Mayor's Invitational Cornhole Tournament at the July 4th Celebration. Selberg and Russo each won a set of cornhole boards and Selberg auctioned his off, donating the money to The American Legion.

Golf Cart Ordinance

The purpose of this ordinance shall be to establish a Golf Cart Ordinance within the Town to promote the health, safety and welfare of persons operating cart(s) within the Town and to protect the safety of their passengers and other users of roads.


Town Manager's Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Recommended Budget

Town Manager Haynes Brigman presented his recommended budget at the May 14, 2018 Town Council meeting. Town Council will consider this budget at the June 11, 2018 meeting and a public hearing will be held for any public comment.

Back Creek Greenway RFQ

The Town of Harrisburg is seeking RFQs from qualified firms that are interested in providing architectural, engineering, design and construction document services for Back Creek Greenway.

This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) describes the required scope of services, consultant selection process and the minimum information that must be included in the proposal. Failure to submit information in accordance with these requirements and procedures may be cause for disqualification.

Town of Harrisburg Flag Contest

For the first time in the Town’s history, Harrisburg will soon have a flag to serve as a unique icon that represents its people and culture.

Fourteen-year-old Jonathan Andrus proposed the idea of holding a contest to create a Town flag during the public comment section of the March 12, 2018 Town Council meeting. During his comments, Andrus said he has gotten more than four dozen of his peers’ signatures to support having a Town flag.

Water and Wastewater System Development Fee Study

Per the new North Carolina General Statues, the Town of Harrisburg has engaged a professional consulting firm, Willdan Financial Services, to perform a Water and Wastewater System Development Fee Study. The Study will use the calculation guidance provided by the State and the Town will use this study as the basis for setting the FY2019 fees. Per State Statute, the study must be made available for public inspection and comment for 45 days prior to the new fees being adopted.
