All classes will meet from 5:30pm to 7pm
(1A) Tuesdays, July 3, 10, 17, 24 and August 14 and 21 (6 classes)
(1B) Thursdays, July 5, 12, 19, 26 and August 16 and 23 (6 classes)
(2A) Tuesdays, September 4—October 9 (6 classes)
(2B) Thursdays, September 6—October 11 (6 classes)
Fee: $65 per session per child
Max Class Size is 15
Classes will take place at Harrisburg Town Hall in the Municipal Complex room.
Students will focus on learning techniques in art to improve skills such as drawing, painting, sculpture and possibly clay. Students will be able to create art using their own creativity within the techniques that are demonstrated for them. Some projects may be inspired from famous artists and some projects may be inspired from their own experiences. Each session offers different projects, so if you want to take both sessions you will make different art pieces!

Beginners to Advanced young artists are welcome to unleash their imagination. This summer camp is designed to create art using students imagination and also learning techniques or re-fining their techniques. Students will create art using paints, watercolor, pens, pastels, and recycled materials. It is preferred that a student brings a device so that they can research a reference image to draw from. (It is not required. Instructor will provide 2 laptops.) This camp is for children who love inventing, making, and bringing their creative ideas to life!
About Instructor Christina Thomas:
Mrs. Thomas is a passionate middle school art teacher who loves inspiring young minds. She is currently working at Francis Bradley Middle School, in which she started teaching there in 2016. She has been teaching at Harrisburg Parks and Recreation since 2014. Her passion is in painting but brings her love for art into the classroom. Her concept to teaching is to understand and seek inspiration from around the world and history to create new and imaginative works of art.
