[ARCHIVED] Fire Department Open House

ladder and extinguisher

October is Fire Prevention Awareness Month. The Harrisburg Fire Department is kicking off the month with our Annual Open House on Saturday September 28th at Fire Station #1, 6450 Morehead Road, from 11:00 to 3:00. We will have fire extinguisher demonstrations on the hour, using our brand new state of the art live fire prop. Climb through and take selfies in your favorite fire truck. And test your skill at the games we will have set up. You can even race your children through the inflatable obstacle course. Come hungry because the firefighters will be serving up some slow cooked BBQ for lunch.

Have you ever dreamed of riding on top of a fire truck, wind through your hair, siren blaring? This is your chance to mark it off your bucket list. We will have the Amazin Blazin Fire Truck for 1 day only!! Don't miss it because you may not get another chance.

As a special treat, students from both Pitts School Road Elementary and Harrisburg Elementary will be participating in a friendly competition to show their knowledge of Fire & Life Safety tips. The winner gets to take on the firefighters!
