Councilman Ian Patrick was elected to Town Council in 2019 to serve a four-year term.
Ian earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture from UNC Charlotte. He is a registered Architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architecture Registration Boards, a LEED accredited professional with a specialty in Building Design and Construction, a NC SEER Certified Disaster Inspector, a member of the Commercial Real Estate Developers Association (NAIOP) and a member of the Construction Professionals Network.
Ian currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Construction Professionals Network and the CPN Institute. He has served as Co-Chair for the USGBC Charlotte Branch, Chair of the Membership and Outreach Committee for the USGBC Charlotte Branch and a member of the American Institute of Architect’s Legislative Review Committee.
Councilman Patrick also volunteers for Town workshops for CPNI and deploys as a Disaster Relief Inspector for NC SEER, most recently to Robeson County after Hurricane Florence.
Ian and his wife, Erin, have two children, Uriah and Stevie Jean. Together they own biloba Architecture, an architecture firm doing public work for Higher Education and Municipal clients. The firm was founded on beautiful and sustainable design practices.
Ian enjoys sailing with his family, reading and cultivating bonsai and rare orchids.
