2020 Parade Information
Please join us in 2020! We invite military and veterans groups, equestrian groups, fire trucks, schools, bands, performance groups, floats and more to participate. The Harrisburg July 4th Celebration Parade is one of the largest and most well-attended parades in the area. Folks line up along Highway 49 to see the array of military and non-military floats, businesses, walkers, bands, performers, equestrian groups and fire trucks that participate in the parade annually.
The parade beings at Captain Steve’s in Harrisburg and travels north down Highway 49. The parade will end at Robinson Ave. (on Highway 49). Participants in the parade will be directed to turn right onto Robinson Ave. Parade participants will be directed to turn left onto School Circle from Robinson Ave. and then to turn right onto Harrisburg Veterans Road which will take you to a stop light at Stallings Road. Please view a map in advance if you are not familiar with this location. There are various ways you can travel from the intersection of Harrisburg Veterans Road and Stallings Road to get where you need to go (via Stallings Road, Hickory Ridge Road or Robinson Church Road).
For safety reasons, please do not stand on the southbound lane side of Highway 49 to view the parade.
If you have submitted an application to be in the parade, you will receive your parade line up number and line up time and location in the mail a few days prior to the July 4th parade. Once the parade line up is finalized, we will mail you specific information as to where to be and what time to arrive the morning of July 4th. Parade line up locations are as follows: Captain Steve’s Restaurant, Caldwell Road, JTG Racing, Wilbert Plastics (the road alongside this business) and Harrisburg Industrial Park Drive. Line up times vary from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. to have everyone lined up and ready by the parade’s start time of 9 a.m.
If you have specific questions, please contact the Parks and Recreation office prior to July 4th at 704-455-7275.
Please note, there is little to no parking at these parade locations. If you are participating in the parade as a group (Boy or Girl Scouts, dance groups, church groups, etc.), please try to carpool or have someone drop you off at the parade line up locations.
