Councilman Rick Russo was elected to Town Council in 2011 and re-elected to serve four-year terms in November 2015 and November 2019. He has served as mayor pro tem, serves on the Fire Advisory Board and is a retired 20-year veteran of the Harrisburg Fire Department, as both a paid and volunteer firefighter. 


Rick earned an associate degree in civil engineering technology at Youngstown State University and studied labor relations at Central Piedmont Community College. He has worked for US Airways, now American Airlines, for 29 years and is a fleet service worker at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. 

Family & Community Involvement

Rick, his wife Tracy and two children have been Harrisburg residents since 1989. He is a supporter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, funding research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs to end breast cancer, and Guide Dogs of America, providing free guide dogs to blind and visually impaired individuals. Rick is also the film coordinator for the Hickory Ridge High School football team.
