The Water & Sewer Department's responsibility is to maintain and improve the long-term quality and reliability of water and sewer services in the Town of Harrisburg.

Today, the primary goals are cost control, efficient delivery of service and environmental protection. Accordingly, it is necessary for the Town to maintain and improve the water distribution and sewer systems, to establish and administer a sound billing and collection system that is fair and efficient, and to maintain a strong financial structure.

Residential Water Rates
0-2000	$9.35 first 2000 gal.
2001-6000	$5.26 per additional 1000 gal.
6001-9000	$5.79 per additional 1000 gal.
9001 and above	$6.55 per additional 1000 gal.

Residential Sewer Rates
0-2000	$7.46 first 2000 gal.
2001-12000	$5.31 per additional 1000 gal.
Sewer charges cap off @ 12,000 gallons for residents.

Commercial Water Rates
0-2000	$19.25 first 2000 gal.
2001-15000	$5.79 per additional 1000 gal.
15001 and above	$6.55 per additional 1000 gal.

Commercial Sewer Rates
0-2000	$12.83 first 2000 gal.
2001 and above	$6.06 per additional 1000 gal.
No Sewer cap for commercial customers.

PAYMENT OF YOUR BILL

You May Pay You Bill Any One of the Following Ways:

1. Mail Please enclose the top portion

(stub of your bill with your check

or money order in the enclosed

envelope. Please write your

account number on your

check or money order.

2. Draft You may pick up a bank draft form

at Town Hall or download it from

our website, www.harrisburgnc.org

3. In Person At the Town Hall, located at 4100

Main St., Suite 101. Please bring

your bill with you.

4. By Phone We accept credit card (VISA,

MasterCard, Discover) payments

in person or by phone.

5. Online You may go to our website,

www.harrisburgnc.org, and use

our convenient online payment

service.

6. Drop Box You may place your payment in our

drop box located on the front of

                        Town Hall after hours. All payments
                        received after 8:00 am will be

                        posted on the next business day.

PAYMENT TERMS

All bills are due and payable upon receipt. The Town of Harrisburg is not responsible for failure of the US Postal Service to deliver bills. No second notice will be sent. It is the customers's responsibility to pay their bill by the 15th of the month. If you feel your bill is incorrect please contact the Utility Billing Dept. at 704-455-5614 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Monday through Friday.

An account is considered past due if it is not paid by the 15th of the month. If payment is not received by the 15th, a $10.00 late fee will be added. If the account is not paid in full by the 25th of the month, service will be cut off without further notice and a fee of $25.00 will be charged before service is resumed. If payment is made after 4:00 pm, the reconnect fee is $50.00. The reconnect fee will be charged on the 26th of the month for an account that has not been paid in full, even if water has not been turned off. Reconnection will be made in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 24 hours.

RETURN CHECK FEES

A $25.00 NSF fee is charged for each returned check or automatic draft. After a customer has been charged an NSF fee, the Town will no longer accept checks from that customer.

All fees are subject to change by the Harrisburg Town Council.

Sewer charges cap off @ 12,000 gallons for residents.

Commercial Water Rates
0-2000	$20.41 first 2000 gal.
2001-15000	$6.30 per additional 1000 gal.
15001 and above	$6.91 per additional 1000 gal.

Commercial Sewer Rates
0-2000	$13.99 first 2000 gal.
2001 and above	$7.46 per additional 1000 gal.
No Sewer cap for commercial customers.
