Fire Department Open House

The Harrisburg Fire Department will have their Annual Open House on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 11am to 3pm at Station #1 at 6450 Morehead Road. There will be tours of Station #1, cooking safety demonstrations, bounce houses, junior firefighter challenges, fire trucks, meet your firefighters and BBQ for Sale!

Bags in the Burg - this weekend!

In the fall of each year, Harrisburg Parks & Recreation partners with Harrisburg Business Network (HBN) for a friendly community-wide cornhole competition, raising funds for a different local charity each year. Money is raised through tournament registrations, donations and raffles. Over $10,000 was raised in 2016 for Special Olympics of Cabarrus County and $1,000 was raised for a local school.

Road Closure - September 14 & 15, 2017

Kee Lane will be closed from Hwy 49 to the McDonalds driveway on Thursday and Friday, September 14th and 15th from 9am to 4pm for sanitary sewer construction related to the Publix site.

Harrisburg Park- Master Plan

The Town has developed a master plan for Harrisburg Park and will be presenting it to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council on Monday, August 28th 6pm in the Council Chambers.

Approved FY2017-18 Budget and proposed Bond Referendum

HARRISBURG, N.C., June 13, 2017– Town Manager Haynes Brigman presented FY2017-2018 budget recommendation for approval to the Harrisburg Town Council on Monday, June 12. The Town wide budget totals $35,732,370 for General Fund, Capital Reserve Fund, Capital Project Fund, Storm Water Fund, and Water and Sewer Fund. “Careful consideration was given to providing the highest quality services to our citizens in the most efficient and effective manner, while also balancing the increased service demands and needs of our growing community.” said Brigman.

Town of Harrisburg offices will close on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day

HARRISBURG, N.C., May 24, 2017–  Town of Harrisburg offices, including Town Hall, Fire Department Administration, Public Works Facility, and Parks and Recreation Office will close on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. Garbage/recycling collection will operate on a one-day delay. Yard waste will operate on a one-day delay/Bulk item collection services will operate on a normal schedule. The Town of Harrisburg, North Carolina is seeking qualifications from professional planning services from a multi-disciplinary firm or team of firms to prepare an update to the existing Harrisburg Area Land Use Plan. 


Town of Harrisburg Community Concert Series Kicks off May 13

HARRISBURG, N.C., May. 9, 2017– The Rockin' the Burg Community Concert Series is a free, family-friendly outdoor concert series, bringing our community to Town Center on Saturday May 13. This Rockin' the Burg Concert, located in Harrisburg Town Center, will feature food trucks, a beer and wine garden and interactive art to provide a fun evening of family, food, music and art!


Edifice, Inc. is the Construction Manager for the Town of Harrisburg New Public Works Facility and Fire Station #2. Edifice is seeking to pre-qualify contractors at this time for Subcontractor Trade Packages.
The projects include construction of a New Public Works Facility and Warehouse plus the New Replacement for Fire Station #2. The owner is the Town of Harrisburg. The designers are Milligan Architecture for the Public Works Facility and Stewart Cooper Newell for Fire Station #2. The sites are located in Harrisburg at the following addresses:
