Meet our Town Manager, Rob Donham -
Mr. Donham, a current employee of the Town of Harrisburg, began his employment with us in 2016 as the Town Engineer. He has since served as the Engineering and Public Works Director from 2019 to 2021 and served as The Interim Town Manager from June 2021 to February 2022. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states including North Carolina and Ohio. He has been an active leader in the public infrastructure arena both locally and nationally serving as a member the APWA (American Public Works Association), NSPE (The National Society of Professional Engineers), ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), current Alumni of Leadership Cabarrus and a founding Member and former Chairman of the RSPC (Regional Stormwater Partnership of the Carolina’s).
Mr. Donham has nearly 20 years of experience in public infrastructure, engineering, and local government management. He began his career at the Ohio Department of Transportation serving in both The Environmental Planning and The Highway Construction Departments. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mr. Donham served as a regional Traffic Engineer for The Engineering Design Firm of Burgess and Niple, where he gained an appreciation for private sector management, and the blending of engineering solutions to local government needs. Mr. Donham then transitioned and became The Deputy County Engineer of Mahoning County Ohio and Service Superintendent of Grove City, Ohio where he handled all aspects of county management, city engineering, city services and infrastructure maintenance and expansion prior to joining the Town of Harrisburg.
Mr. Donham has served in many elected and appointed local government roles including: Board of Directors for the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County, Cabarrus Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization, Chairman of the Regional Stormwater Partnership of the Carolinas, the Ohio Public Works Commission, Chairman of the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, and Vice Chairman of the Portage County Land Bank. He also served as both Councilman and Mayor for The Village of Windham. Mr. Donham has a deep passion for volunteerism and public service and has dedicated the vast majority of his career to improving the quality of life in the communities he has served.
When Mr. Donham is not in office, you can find him coaching youth basketball and volunteering in many roles within his Church. Mr. Donham has been married 20 years to his wife Deann, and they have 3 children, Bobby, Eli, and Emmalee.
