HARRISBURG, N.C., May. 9, 2017– The Rockin' the Burg Community Concert Series is a free, family-friendly outdoor concert series, bringing our community to Town Center on Saturday May 13. This Rockin' the Burg Concert, located in Harrisburg Town Center, will feature food trucks, a beer and wine garden and interactive art to provide a fun evening of family, food, music and art!
The evening will kick off with a document shredding event from 5pm until 7pm. This service is free to residents and limited to 3 trash bags/ boxes of documents for shredding. David Domingo and the Fuzzbucket Music Company will begin at 6:30pm and our feature Party Parrot Band: Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band will begin at 7pm. Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Eat from a Truck has partnered with the Town to bring food trucks to our Concert Series. Trucks on site*: Dumpling Girls, Jess Kakes, Mae's Creole Kitchen, Mel's BLT Kitchen, Ranucci's BBQ, Sticks and Cones, Tiger Yakitori, and Two Chicks and a Truck. *subject to change
Accomplished artists, artist wannabes and everyone in between are invited to participate in painting the next in a series of acrylic murals highlighting Harrisburg's history and landmarks. Mural templates will be created by former Cabarrus County high school art teacher, artist and Concord resident: Andrea Sowle. Completed murals will be permanently on display in Town Hall's Municipal Complex, along with names of participating community members. All activities are free and this project is supported by a grant from the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, and the Cabarrus Arts Council.
Town of Harrisburg would like to recognize the following partners for making our community concert series a success. The Cabarrus Art Council, Novant Health and Cabarrus Brewing Company. During the event $0.50 of each beer sold will go to support The Community Free Clinic.
