Harrisburg's Wood Brothers Racing has many accolades throughout 60 years of auto-racing success. One more was added to the repertoire Monday evening as Harrisburg Town Council and Mayor Tim Hagler proclaimed March 15, 2011 as "Wood Brothers Racing Day."

This action item, adopted at the monthly Town Council meeting, follows the racing team's 2011 Daytona 500 win in February. Both Wood Brothers Racing and #21 driver Trevor Bayne were recognized at the meeting.

As a family member, I would like to say Thank you for the proclamation and add that Harrisburg's gain is Stuart, Virignia's loss. We miss seeing the haulers going in and out of our Town with the 21 Race Car on board and seeing the hustle and bustle at the shop here in Stuart. But the response from all the people here when they won the Daytona 500 was heart warming. It is wonderful to see the Wood Brothers back in the lime light.
