The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office has issued a variety of crime prevention strategies to ensure you and your family are safe as you celebrate.
"This is the last thing that anyone wants to think about this time of year, but unfortunately it is a reality that everyone should think of," said Sgt. Tessa Burchett with the Community Oriented Policing Service of the Sheriff's Office. "If everyone takes some simple steps to protect themselves, it can help keep you and your home safe at any time."
Noting one important tip -- "Please continue to keep your homes and vehicles locked, and make sure to bring valuables such as GPSs, laptops, firearms and such in your house." -- Burchett also passed along
this helpful pamphlet with strategies to prevent identity theft as well as incidents at home and in parking lots.
