The U.S. Census Bureau, a division of the United States Department of Commerce, recently recognized the Town of Harrisburg for their partnership during the 2010 census collection.
"Conducting the decennial census is a massive and vitally important undertaking -- one which the Census Bureau could only accomplish with the help and support of partners like you," Regional Director William Hatcher said in a recent letter to the town. "Your commitment to motivate the public to complete and return the census form will have a lasting impact."
Harrisburg officials offered time and resources -- including usage of Town Hall facilities -- to members of the U.S. Census Bureau as they conducted the year's census count.
A certificate of appreciation from U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves will be presented to the Harrisburg Town Council at Monday's meeting.
