The Town of Harrisburg joined communities across Cabarrus County on Sept. 11 for a Patriots' Day Remembrance Ceremony to commemorate the tenth anniversary of that somber day in American history.
Mayor Tim Hagler spoke at the event -- held Sunday afternoon at Concord Fire Station 8 -- alongside officials from Cabarrus County, the Cities of Concord and Kannapolis and the Town of Mount Pleasant. Rep. Larry Kissell also shared a few words in addition to remarks from other guests.
The day was highlighted by the unveiling of a steel relic from the World Trade Center as well as a 21-gun salute, presentation of a memorial wreath and ringing of the bell to honor those lives lost one decade ago.
The Town of Harrisburg is honored to have participated in this joint event with the Cities of Concord and Kannapolis and Cabarrus County and we appreciate all those individuals who attended this remembrance ceremony.
