Healthiest Employer Award
The Charlotte Business Journal named the Town of Harrisburg one of the Healthiest Employers in the Charlotte-area for the second consecutive year! The Town moved up in category this year and competed with organizations that have up to 5,000 employees and more resources and funding for their programs. Because of our creativity and out of the box thinking, we are being recognized and honored as a healthiest employer.
Our award and achievement has also been noted in the Independent Tribune.
The Town of Harrisburg qualified to receive safety awards from the NC Department of Labor. These awards are normally presented at the NCDOL Annual Safety Awards Banquet held in Concord. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the safety awards banquet season has been canceled. The Department of Labor hopes to reschedule the safety awards banquets, but at this time, there are no plans in place. The Town qualifies for the following NCDOL Gold Safety Awards: Town of Harrisburg, Public Works Department, Park and Recreation Department and Administrative Department. To qualify for the Gold Awards, the department must have a DART (Days Away/Restricted Time) rate that is at or below 50% of the rate for like departments throughout the state during the previous year.
